Kendrekar said, “The old National Highway 52 passes close to the Ellora caves complex. The road connects north and south India, causing heavy traffic and pollution, which affects the environment around the caves.”

According to officials, the bypass will start near cave number one of Ellora and end outside the Ghrishneshwar temple. He said shopkeepers in the vicinity would be shifted to the MTDC tourist center area.(Agency)
