Akola, The strike organized by the Electricity Employees Sangharsh Samiti against the planned privatization of Mahavitaran, despite the talks between the Chief Energy Secretary and the presidents of the three companies and the office bearers of the Sangharsh Samiti in Prakashgarh, the strike is fixed for 72 hours, such information has come to the fore. In this regard, a meeting of 31 organizations participating in the Sangharsh Samiti was held at Prakashgarh Bandra along with the Chief Energy Secretary of the State Government and the Chairman, Managing Director, other officials of the three companies regarding the agitation organized by the Sangharsh Samiti of the electricity workers.

In the meeting, the office bearers of the organizations involved in the struggle committee expressed displeasure over the fact that the government and the administration did not pay any attention to the agitation and strike notice given one and a half months ago. The administration should have already called the trade unions for discussion and their role should have been clarified. Due to the strike being against the policy of the government, it is necessary to have this meeting at the level of Energy Minister. But by not doing so there is dissatisfaction among the workers.

The Sangharsh Samiti demands that the division of this industry is for the people and the industry should remain in the ownership of the people. The 72-hour strike does not include any financial or other demands of the employees. This movement has been called to protect the interests of electricity consumers and to maintain the concessions given to them. In the meeting, the Sangharsh Samiti demanded that the government and the administration clarify their position in this regard.

In relation to the strike, the committee has informed that the employees, engineers, officers and contract workers, security guards, working in the head office, branch office, production center, sub-centre, should fully participate in the strike. Substation Assistant, Electrical Assistant, Junior Office Assistant, Trainee Engineer, Trainee and Village Electric Assistant will also participate in the strike.

The Sangharsh Samiti opposes any act of shutting down power generation, creating technical fault in substations, intentionally disrupting power supply, causing inconvenience to power consumers. Those participating in the strike should not do any such work which causes inconvenience to the electricity consumer, such instructions were given by the Maharashtra State Electricity Employees, Engineers, Officers Sangharsh Samiti.

According to the strike, a door meeting was organized on Tuesday against the privatization of the company. On behalf of Maharashtra State Employees, Officers, Engineers Sangharsh Samiti and Maharashtra State Backward Class Electricity Employees Organization, protested by raising loud slogans in front of Vidyut Bhawan. A large number of office bearers and members including Amravati Transmission Zone President Nemichand Chavan, Sunil Kamble, Harshal Vanarse, Manoj Tayde, Praveen Khandare, Pawan Mahul, Sachin Ketkar participated in the meeting. Meanwhile, information has been received that a discussion will be held with the Deputy Chief Minister on January 4.
