Attaining power does not mean that arbitrary decisions are taken and the government exchequer made from the tax paid by the public is wasted. This amount should be used judiciously in public interest. The Chief Minister of the state should decide what is important and what is not important and what should be the priority of the government. Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde said that he has given permission for the construction of Assam Bhawan in Navi Mumbai on the request of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Sanjay Raut said on this that Assam Bhavan is already located in New Mumbai.
What is the point in building another when it already exists? Every state wants land in the country’s financial capital Mumbai but there is no place for Maharashtra in other states. Regarding the proximity of Shinde and Sarma, Sanjay Raut said that the Chief Minister of Assam is a former Congressman while Shinde is a former Shiv Sainik, but after changing sides, both became the Chief Ministers, so there is a good coordination between the two. If seen, the land in Mumbai is very expensive as compared to other states.

There is no point in giving it generously to anyone. Shinde is thanking Himanta Biswa Sarma because he stayed in Assam for 11 days with the rebel Shiv Sena MLA. Under Operation Lotus, these MLAs were first taken to Maharashtra’s neighboring state of Gujarat and then from there to the northeastern state of Assam. If kept in a distant state, no MLA can escape. This strategy was such a well-thought-out master plan of the BJP that the MLAs were shifted to BJP-ruled states so that none of them could backtrack.
How so many MLAs went out of Mumbai avoiding the attention of the then government is also a mystery. Devendra Fadnavis and Amit Shah showed their skills in this episode. It is natural for Eknath Shinde to grow closer to the CM of Assam who was his host in Assam. All these things are in their place, but when Assam Bhavan already exists in Navi Mumbai, no one will agree to allow another such building to be built.
