The interrogation of Mafia Mukhtar Ansari continued even on the third day of custody remand. Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials questioned him on Friday about seven properties located in Jalaun and Ghazipur. Asked how the registration of these properties was done at a price less than the circle rate. On December 14, ED has taken Mukhtar on custody remand in money laundering case. On the third day, he was asked questions regarding the properties made illegally. Most of these questions were related to those properties located in Jalaun and Ghazipur, which were temporarily attached by the ED in the past.

Apart from others, one important thing was that Mukhtar was asked how these properties were registered at a price less than the circle rate. In fact, the total registry value of these properties was Rs 1.48 crore. Whereas according to the circle rate of that time, the value of the properties was Rs 3.42 crore. It is feared that Mukhtar and his close ones made properties at a price less than the circle rate on the strength of bullying. At present, Mukhtar has not given any satisfactory answer regarding these questions.

Six Vikas Constructions, one in the name of wife
The six properties that were attached in Jalaun are in the name of Vikas Construction. Mafia’s wife Afsha Ansari and her two brothers Atif Raza and Anwar Shahzad are also included in its total five partners. Apart from this, the Ghazipur property on which action was taken is registered in the name of Afsha Ansari, wife of the mafia. Significantly, the Prayagraj unit of ED had registered a money laundering case against Mukhtar in July 2021.
