Earthquake In Arunachal Pradesh: Strong tremors of earthquake have been felt in Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh late on Sunday evening. This earthquake occurred at around 6.27 pm, whose intensity was 4.4 on the Richter scale. The National Center for Seismology said that the depth of the quake was 10 km below the ground. Earthquake tremors have been felt in many areas of India recently. Two days ago, the earth shook in Ladakh too.
The National Center for Seismology said on Friday that an earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale struck 189 km north of Alchi in Leh. Earlier last week, an earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale struck 62 km east-northeast of Katra in Jammu and Kashmir. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) is the nodal agency of the Government of India for monitoring earthquake activity in the country. On Sunday itself, many strong tremors of earthquake have been felt in Taiwan. The magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 7.2 on the Richter scale. Japan has issued a tsunami warning after a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Taiwan. In Taiwan, several buildings collapsed, roads, bridges were damaged and train coaches derailed in the southeastern region.
According to Taiwan’s Meteorological Bureau, the epicenter of the quake was in Taitung County. Tremors were also felt in the capital Taipei and the southwestern city of Kaohsiung. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake struck Taiwan at 2:44 pm on Sunday, about 50 kilometers north of Taitung, at a depth of 10 kilometers. According to reports, the intensity of the tremor was initially reported as 7.2, but was later reduced to 6.9.
