Shimla: An earthquake measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale hit Chamba and its neighboring districts in Himachal Pradesh, but no casualties were reported. An official gave this information on Saturday.

Sudesh Mokta, Special Secretary, Disaster Management Department said that the earthquake occurred on Friday night with its epicenter at Dhar Makkan near Tissa in Chamba district.

Mokta told that the tremors were felt for a few seconds and people came out of their houses due to fear. He said that so far there is no news of any casualty due to this earthquake. (agency)
