The government is not giving budget to the departments. The budget that is being given is also not being spent. The development in the state is happening only from the ground. SP MLA Lalji Verma made these allegations while starting the discussion on the budget for the financial year 2023-24 in the assembly. He said that this budget of the government is going to sell dreams. By presenting an anti-village, poor, farmer, women and youth budget, the government is looting false applause.

Verma said that the government is telling the achievements of the last six years as if nothing had happened in UP before 2017. In the budget, sugarcane production has been told to increase by 1,00,875 tonnes per hectare, which is not possible. A budget of Rs 6,15,518 crore was presented in the current financial year. So far only 57 percent of the budget has been spent. In such a situation, it is not possible to spend 100 percent of the budget in a month.

If there was credibility then how the seats went from 325 to 256

Verma said that the government claims to win again on the basis of credibility. The government should remember that the Congress formed the government with absolute majority several times in the state. If the government had credibility, then how did the BJP’s seats decrease from 325 to 256 in the 2022 assembly elections. Verma said that the government did not release a single rupee after making a budget provision of Rs 22 crore for the Scheduled Tribe scholarship. Against the provision of Rs 828 crore for minority scholarship, only Rs 39.92 crore has been released.
