Dharangaon : Between the farewell of the old year and the welcome of the new year, sensation has spread in the city due to the murder of a person in Dharangaon. Tension prevailed in the city following the brutal murder of a 30-year-old youth on New Year’s Eve. The culmination of a minor dispute became the reason for the murder of a young man and in the midst of the joy of the new year, the murder of the young man caused a wave of mourning in Dharangaon. The deceased youth has been identified as Kalu Sonawane (30).

In the city’s Krishna Jining, some laborers from outside the district, including some laborers from Bihar state, got into an argument with Kalu Sonawane at Otai on December 31 at around 9 pm. The continuing argument between the laborers turned into a fight after some time and a group of 17 people attacked Kalu Sonawane. One of the attackers hit Kalu Sonawane on the head. Kalu Sonawane fell down after this dispute. The assailants fled the scene leaving Kalu Sonawane in critical condition. Sonawane’s relatives then took him to Dharangaon Rural Hospital, where doctors declared Kalu brought dead. After this, the local police reached the spot and teams were sent to different areas to search for the accused. Police has detained 17 people in this case.

Police detained the accused

The police kept searching for the suspected accused in Anaur, Dhanaur, Garkheda area throughout the night and till early morning the police detained 17 people one by one. Jibhau Patil, Amol Gunjal, Vinod Sandanshiv, Milind Sonar, Police Constables Sanjay Suryavanshi, Sadhan Bhagwat, Pramod Patil, Manoj Patil, Mahesh Devre, Jitendra Patil, Police Inspector Rahul Khatal’s team under the guidance of Mahesh Patil of the local crime branch spent the whole night Suspected accused have been detained after searching in the forest area.
