New Delhi: The Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM) has revoked the restrictions of GRAP-4 from Delhi and NCR region due to low pollution. Now the restrictions of the third phase of GRAP will remain in force. The Air Quality Commission has directed the removal of restrictions imposed on non-BS VI diesel powered light motor vehicles and trucks entering the capital in Delhi-NCR under the final phase of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). An Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM) order said, “As the current AQI level of Delhi is around 339, which is 111 AQI points below the ceiling for implementation of GRAP Phase-IV measures and Phase-IV As all preventive/mitigation/preventive measures are in place under all phases, the AQI is expected to remain improving.” “The forecast of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) or IITM does not indicate any sharp deterioration in the situation,” it said.

The Commission said that a large number of stakeholders and people are affected by the restrictions under GRAP Phase IV. The Commission said that there are no more stringent measures than those mentioned in GRAP Phase-IV, which can be taken to improve the air quality scenario.

Pollution increased in Diwali
Significantly, after Diwali, the level of pollution in Delhi-National Capital Region had increased. According to which, all types of construction activities will be banned except for essential projects in the National Capital Region.
