Today i.e. Sunday, February 12, at 11 am, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the year-long celebrations to commemorate the 200th birth anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in the national capital. He will also address a gathering here on this special occasion. Union Minister GK Reddy and MOS Culture Arjun Ram Meghwal and Meenakshi Lekhi will also be specially present in this program today.
Who is Maharishi Dayanand
Let us tell you that Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, who was born on February 12, 1824, was a social reformer who founded the Arya Samaj in 1875 to combat the prevalent social inequalities.
According to the PMO on the matter, the Modi government is determined to honor those social reformers and important persons, especially those whose contribution has not yet been given their due at the all India level.
In such a situation, from declaring the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda as Tribal Pride Day to participating in the program organized on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is openly leading such a big initiative.
