Once Gudakesh performed a severe penance to please Lord Vishnu. After doing penance for a long time Lord Vishnu was pleased and asked him to ask for a boon. Then the demon said that I should die from your Sudarshan Chakra. With this my body becomes of copper and this metal is used for your worship. In such a situation, Lord Vishnu cut the demon into many pieces with his Sudarshan Chakra. Copper metal was made from the meat of Gudakesh. For this reason, things made of copper are used for the worship of Lord Vishnu.
