Nashik : Nashik Municipal Corporation has about 25 thousand commercial tap connections in the border area. But due to technical reasons water is not accounted for. The amount of water used is not fully recovered. Therefore, now the consumers using commercial water under Smart City will be billed through Automatic Mobile Reading. Through this it will be helpful to take account of a drop of water. There are 2.5 lakh tap connections in the Nashik Municipal Corporation limits. Out of this, 25,000 tap connections are commercial, leaving industrial colonies. Consumers using water for business are billed at a rate four times higher than the residential water tax. But due to technical problem, all the consumers are not charged for every drop of water.
Therefore, through Smart City, SCADA system meters are being installed in the Gavthan premises. Under this, automatic mobile reading of meters of consumers having commercial tap connections will be billed on the consumer’s mobile by taking readings from this technique. The old meters at the place of commercial tap connections are being replaced by electronic pro-meters. The amount of water used through the electronic meter, the same bill will be recorded in the mobile app of the appointed employee through the automatic method of reading the meter. Through this there will be no need to appoint time and manpower. After the system is implemented, the responsibility of maintenance and repair will be of the concerned organization for 5 years.

‘Central SCADA’ controls water supply
Process is on to make adequate water supply through SCADA technology in Gavthan campus. For this work has been given to Vishwaraj Environment Private Limited Company located in Nagpur. Through this institution, SCADA meters will be installed at 40 water treatment plants of Panchavati and 50 million liters capacity water treatment plants at Bara Bangla. Similar meters will be installed at 179 Jal Kumbhs, 7 water purification centers of the city. A central SCADA center will be set up at Bara Bangla, through which 24-hour water supply information will be available on the mobile phones of key officials. Along with this, information about the quality of water, proof of soil mixing of water, proof of chlorine etc. is going to be available on mobile.
