Meanwhile, the opposition BJP today alleged that the government was hiding the total death toll in the spurious liquor tragedy. Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Vijay Kumar Sinha said, “Despite prohibition in Bihar, the sale of spurious liquor is flourishing under the patronage of the police officers and the state administration. They are not taking any action against the accused.”

Let us inform that, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had instructed last Thursday that if people consume spurious liquor, they will embrace death. The chief minister’s scathing remarks came after several people, including his former colleague Prashant Kishor, a political strategist-turned-activist, targeted him over his prohibition policy and demanded repeal of the prohibition law.
