Nagpur. 3 grain trading traders and their servants cheated the rice mill operators of the city. Took goods worth Rs 1.56 crore but did not pay. Meanwhile, the main accused died. Even after this, the other accused kept buying goods from the rice mill operators. On non-receipt of money, investigation was done and fraud came to light. Police registered a case against 5 accused on the complaint of Pardi resident Sachin Lakshminarayan Agarwal (38).

The accused include Amit Vijay Banabokode (38), Sahdev Gosavi, Kishan Sudesh Gosavi, resident of Darshan Colony, Nandanvan, Sahil Pramod Mate (18), resident of Ishwarnagar and Sagar Prabhakar Paraye (26), resident of Pawanshakti Nagar. Accused Amit died on 26 February. The police have arrested Sahil and Sagar while the search is on for the Gosavi brothers. Amit Anand used to run a trading company while the Gosavi brothers have a shop named Balaji & Company on Umred Road. Amit used to do all the dealings of buying and selling of rice. Sachin does the brokerage of rice.

They take the goods from the rice mill and inform the traders. He was introduced to Amit through a friend. Amit told about his company. In the beginning Sachin got the goods to Amit. He used to make the payment within 3-4 days. The confidence of the rice mill operators increased due to purchase and sale of goods several times. From January 17 to February 27, 445 tonnes of rice was called from 21 different rice mills. Due to non-receipt of payment, the rice millers contacted Sachin.

When Sachin went to Amit’s shop and godown and checked, he came to know that all the goods were empty. During interrogation, it was found that Amit had died on 26 January itself. Even after this the goods were called on 27th January. The Gosavi brothers, who worked with Amit, along with their servants Sahil and Sagar, had emptied the godown and all the goods of the shop and shifted them to another place.

The traders complained to the police. Even after Amit’s death, his servants called for goods from traders using the phone. The police arrested both of them by registering a case of cheating under various sections. The search for Gosavi continues. Police has also seized 25 tonnes of rice from his second godown. Inspector Nitin Patange is investigating the case.
