The car overturned in the left Karmnasha canal near Pachvaniya village of the police station area late on Friday night. Due to this bullion businessman Mukesh Khatri (42) died on the spot. He himself was driving the car.
Mukesh Khatri was a resident of ward number 6 of Chakia Nagar. He had a bullion shop in Shahabganj town market. They were returning home after closing the shop at around 10 pm. According to the eyewitnesses, due to the high speed of the car, it went uncontrolled and fell into the left Karmnasha canal. Relatives told that for the last few days he used to go to the shop in his own car. Due to lack of water in the canal, as soon as the accident happened, the people around somehow pulled out Mukesh Khatri from the overturned car in the canal and took him to the District Joint Hospital located in the city through an ambulance, where the doctors declared him dead. As soon as the incident was known, a crowd of relatives and well-wishers gathered in the hospital. At the same time, a mountain of sorrow broke down among the family members. Kotwal Mukesh Kumar told that the dead body has been taken into custody and sent for postmortem.
