Circle Institute, New Delhi : The central government is considering giving the power to regulate the production of drugs and cosmetics to the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO). Till now, the states would have the right to regulate the production. The new bill is being discussed at the level of central ministers.
New Drugs, Medical Devices and Cosmetics Bill has been prepared to change the rules of drug production. In July or in the month of July, there was a movement of information on the draft of the bill. There were many reactions from the Union Ministry of Health and ‘CDSCO’ on this. Accordingly, some changes are yet to be made in the bill, discussions are being held at the ministerial level. Or according to the bill, in the new bill, the license for the production of drugs and cosmetics will be given to ‘CDSCO’ instead of the state institutions. Therefore, there will be uniformity in rules across the country and there will be major changes in the rules of production tariffs. Or according to the bill, the sale, distribution and distribution of drugs in online form can be controlled by the Centre. According to the existing rules, there is a drug regulatory office in each district, production and sales are targeted on it. According to the new bill major changes will be made only in the infrastructure and manpower.
