Nagpur. According to the Obstacle Limitation Survey (OLS) of the year 2018, 97 buildings remain obstruction or bottleneck for Nagpur Airport. Of these, 19 violators have brought the height of their buildings within the prescribed limit, thereby coming out of the block. Mihan India Limited (MIL) has shared this information under RTI. Abhay Kolarkar had sought information as to how the height, structure and construction of the building in the area should be done so that it does not become an obstacle or obstruction for the airport. In response he was given a copy of the OLS. MIL conducts OLS survey after every 2 years. The previous survey was done by Raj Technologies which was certified by the Airport Authority of India.

It is reported that the owners of 97 obstructions, shown in the report, were ordered to reduce the height of the buildings on the violators under the Aircraft Demolition of Obstruction Rules, 1994. 19 people have reduced the height of their building. MIL has sent information about its action to DGCA. DGCA has the right to reduce the height of barriers.

Lakshminarayan Bhatt, MIL’s deputy chief administrator of security and operations, said these obstacles included several apartments, telephone towers, some construction work and a water treatment plant. Action will be taken on these.
