New Delhi: When Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was presenting the budget for the financial year 2022-23 on Wednesday, her daughter and relatives sitting in the audience gallery of the Lok Sabha were watching her very carefully. As this was the last full budget of the present regime of the Narendra Modi government, the Lok Sabha’s visitors’ gallery was packed with people who came to watch it. Nirmala Sitharaman’s daughter Wangmayi Parakala and many of her relatives were among these people.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and several members of the Rajya Sabha seated in the special visitors’ gallery of the House were seen taking notes as Sitharaman announced several proposals for the budget. In his budget speech, the Finance Minister said that the world has recognized India as a shining star as the country has registered healthy economic growth amid global uncertainties.

He said that India’s seven percent growth rate in the current financial year is the highest among major economies and India’s economy is progressing on the right track. He said that in the 75th year of independence, the world has recognized India as a shining star and the world is appreciating the achievements of the nation. (agency)
