According to the information, complainant Preetpal Singh, husband of village head Seema Rani of Ghuda in Bathinda district, alleged that in lieu of releasing a government grant of Rs 25 lakh from the Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO) of Garg Sangat, Rs five lakh from his wife Was asking for bribe.
The complainant said that the accused had already taken Rs 50,000 as bribe and was demanding the remaining amount. After a preliminary inquiry into the complaint, the Vigilance Bureau laid a trap and caught Garg red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4 lakh from the complainant as the second installment. The spokesman said that a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at Vigilance Bureau Police Station, Bathinda.
