Chandigarh: A bomb threat has been received in the District Court of Chandigarh. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the dog squad, a large number of police force and fire brigade team have reached the spot. The District Court Campus has been evacuated. While on the one hand preparations are going on across the country for Republic Day. In such a situation, an attempt is being made to vitiate the atmosphere in Chandigarh with the threat of bomb.
Police launched a search operation in the Chandigarh District Court complex on Tuesday afternoon after receiving a call that there was a bomb threat. A senior Chandigarh police officer said, “We got information from the control room that there could be a bomb (inside the court complex). After this, a massive search operation was started.
The premises located in Sector-43 were evacuated. The police asked all the judges, lawyers and others present in the premises to leave. The area has been cordoned off. Bomb disposal squad and dog squad are present at the spot. The complex is located in Sector-43 close to the busy Interstate Bus Terminus. A lawyer told that the information received showed that there could be a bomb inside.
