Shivpal Singh Yadav’s stature in SP’s politics has increased after the merger of Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party with SP and winning the by-election on Mainpuri seat. He is seen coming in the lead role. Shivpal has reached Lucknow, after which the crowd of candidates has started coming to his house regarding the civic elections. It is being said that the candidates will be decided after SP President Akhilesh Yadav returns from Delhi.
However, the picture of civic elections in the state is complicated regarding reservation, but a decision on this is expected from the court soon. Contenders for tickets are also trying their best. Waiting for Akhilesh Yadav to return from Delhi. In such a situation, the claimants are reaching the court of Shivpal Singh Yadav.

The Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat fell vacant after the death of SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav. Dimple Yadav contested on this seat and won by about three lakh votes which is historic. Shivpal Yadav played an important role in this victory. Shivpal had merged his Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party with the SP on the very day of the by-election results. Since then, speculations are being made that Shivpal can be given a bigger responsibility in the SP.
