Madhya Pradesh cabinet meeting was held at Vallabh Bhavan on Tuesday. In the meeting, the cabinet unanimously approved the decision regarding the compassionate appointment. After the meeting, Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang said that according to the new decision, the rule of giving compassionate appointments to the dependents of government officials and employees has been changed. According to the earlier rules, only children would be given compassionate appointment, but there was no provision for compassionate appointment if a girl was married, said Minister Vishwas Sarang.

The new decision of the cabinet has come to change the provisions regarding compassionate appointments. In case of death of an officer or employee while in service, a married woman with children will also be eligible for compassionate appointment.

Many a time it has been observed that after the death of the family member, there is a need for family job, but only the family members face very big and real problems. In such circumstances, married women were not given appointment. The recent decision taken in respect of married girls underlines the efforts of Madhya Pradesh government for women empowerment, said minister Vishwas Sarang.
