Hyderabad, Rahul Gandhi-led ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ resumed from Dharampur in Telangana’s Mahbubnagar town on Saturday and is expected to cover a distance of 20 km. Congress party sources gave this information. This is the fourth day of the yatra in the state.

Party sources said that Rahul will address a street meeting at Jadcherla X Road Junction in the evening before the end of Saturday’s visit. According to sources, the yatra started at 6.30 am and was attended by several Congress leaders along with Rahul. Actress Poonam Kaur and several students of Osmania University also joined Rahul in the padyatra, he said.

According to sources, the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ covered a distance of 23.3 kms in a day before night halt at Mahbubnagar on Friday. The Yatra will cover a total distance of 375 kms, passing through nine Lok Sabha and 19 assembly constituencies in Telangana, before entering Maharashtra on November 7.

On November 4, the yatra will take a day’s break. During the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, Rahul will meet personalities from the sports, business and entertainment sectors as well as intellectuals and leaders from different communities. Members of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee said that Rahul would also visit places of worship, mosques and temples across Telangana and offer prayers there. The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ began on September 7 from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. Before starting the Telangana leg of the yatra, Rahul had undertaken a padyatra in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Telangana Pradesh Congress has constituted 10 special committees to coordinate the yatra.
