Pimpri: Under the plan to bring water from Bhama-Askhed dam to Pimpri-Chinchwad city, the cost of jackwell and pump house being built has increased by Rs 22 crore. The original budget provision for this work was Rs 150 crore. It has now been increased by Rs 22 crore. That is, the original amount of this work which was Rs 150 crore, has now become Rs 172 crore. Its proposal has been approved by the Administrator and Commissioner of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation Shekhar Singh.
The budget of the Municipal Corporation for the year 2022-23 includes construction of jack well and pump house under Bhama-Askhed project. The name of the work is of inadequate format as well as the budgetary amount for this work is also less. Hence the name of the work has been changed. The original budget for this work was Rs 150 crore. Now this includes 18 per cent GST, 5 per cent consultant fee and maintenance repair expenses for 10 years. The budget amount has been increased due to the increase in the rate of the new tariff. Due to this the cost of this work has increased from Rs 150 crore to Rs 172 crore.

Similarly, a tender of Rs 35 crore 77 lakh 46 thousand 364 was issued for Nigdi Water Treatment Plant. So far 70 percent of the work has been done. This expenditure has been made from the Special Plan Fund. The capacity of this center is 428 MLD. Here 20 percent more i.e. 520 MLD water is purified daily. The Water Supply Department has claimed that the contractor, while working on increasing the capacity, has taken material at an increased rate during the Corona epidemic. Meanwhile, the state government has announced a decision on June 29, 2022 to provide special assistance for exceptional price rise. As per that decision, the concerned contractor sought special relief on 1st July 2022. After the completion of this work, the water supply department proposes to pay 18 per cent GST on the total cost, which has been approved by the commissioner.
