If you do not have Belpatra at the time of worship, then you can wash the Belpatra offered there with clean water and offer it to Lord Shiva again. Belpatra is never stale or false.
Always offer only three-leaved belpatra to Mahadev, the God of Gods. There should be no stain or blemish in it. If possible, wash them before offering Belpatra and write Ram or Om Namah Shivay on it with sandalwood. It is believed that by doing this Lord Shiva is quickly pleased and blesses the devotees. It goes away and money-grains increase. To fulfill the wishes, Ram or Om Namah Shivay should be offered with sandalwood on Belpatra.
