The detailed order in the matter is awaited. This was Bilakia’s third attempt to get bail. Earlier, the magistrate and sessions court had rejected his bail applications. He again moved the court for bail after the police filed the charge sheet in December.
The chargesheet claimed that Bilakia was driving at a high speed. The average speed of his SUV car on the Sea Link before the accident was 109.57 kmph, which was well above the 80 kmph limit. It states that the medical report has ruled out that he was under the influence of alcohol.
