According to WHO consumption of liquor can lead to seven types of cancer. Among these colon and breast cancer are the most common. According to WHO, in 2017, 23 thousand new cases of cancer have been detected in European countries. Out of these, 50 percent of people who get cancer are due to mild to moderate consumption of alcohol less than 20 grams per day of pure alcohol. It has also been found that the European region consumes the most alcohol and more than 200 million people are at risk of cancer due to alcohol.
