Jalgaon : The incident of thrashing and robbing a bullion trader of Uchanda in Muktainagar tehsil took place near Narvel Phata on November 30. A total of 17 lakh, 80 thousand rupees cash including gold-silver jewelery of the businessman was looted. The local Crime Branch team busted a robbery gang and arrested six people.

Superintendent of Police M. Rajkumar, Additional Superintendent of Police Chandrakant Gawli informed that valuables worth about 12 lakh 80 thousand have been seized from them. Nilesh Vasant Sonar (32), who owns a gold and silver shop in Uchanda in Muktainagar taluka, takes home jewelery and money from the shop every day. On the evening of November 30, after closing the shop as usual, he was returning home from the bike with the gold and silver jewelery and cash kept in the shop. Near Narvel Phata, three people wearing handkerchiefs on their faces stole gold jewelery worth Rs 9 lakh weighing 300 grams and 2 kg silver jewelery worth Rs 80,000 from Nilesh Sonar by assaulting him with sharp weapons and stones. 80 thousand rupees in cash total 10 lakh, 60 thousand rupees were exchanged, looted by force. The thieves injured Nilesh Sonar in his hand and leg with a knife-like weapon.

LCB detained suspected accused

Two cases of dacoity have been registered at Jamner, MIDC Police Station and Pachora Police Station. After three consecutive days, 5 teams investigate the crime in different ways. All the teams were working especially at night. Police arrested the gang on the basis of intelligence and some evidence, in which three accused from Supreme Colony, one from Raipur Kandari district Jalgaon and one from Uchanda have been arrested. The LCB took the suspects into custody. Two policemen have been posted outside each suspect’s house. The police is keeping a close watch on the movement of the suspects and their relatives.
