The team that went to release the leopard caught by the jawan of Aligarh in the Shivalik forest on the border of Uttarakhand met with an accident. The team members have suffered minor injuries as the vehicle overturned.
Divisional Forest Officer Diwakar Kumar Vashisht told that the forest department team went to release the leopard caught from the jawan in the Shivalik forest of Saharanpur, situated on the border of Uttarakhand on Sunday. After dropping Leopard, the team was returning at night. Around 9.30 pm, a Volvo vehicle hit the team’s Bolero at Talewala near Biharigarh under Fatehpur police station.
A vehicle of the team overturned on the way. The vehicle overturned three times. Due to which the team members have suffered minor injuries. On information a fresh team 2AS was sent to the spot. Teams have also reached from Muzaffarnagar and Saharanpur. RO Mohan has reached the spot. Team members Abdul Shami Ansari Range Officer, Dharmendra Singh Forest Inspector, Deepak Yadav and Hemendra Singh Forest Guard are said to be safe.
Leopard left in Shivalik’s Mohand range in Saharanpur
On the permission of the government, instructions were received to leave in Shivalik area of Saharanpur (Border of Uttarakhand state). On Sunday morning, the Forest Department team took him to Saharanpur. Left him in the Mohand range of the Shivalik region late in the evening.
