Notorious criminal Sonu Gautam, convicted in the murder case of former MLA Malkhan Singh and his bodyguard, was arrested. He was arrested by STF’s Meerut unit from Delhi’s Dilshad Garden area in an operation directed by DGC and sent to Bulandshahr Jail. Now the process of summoning him and sentencing him will be done by the Bulandshahr Sessions Court.

According to the press note issued by the STF, Sonu Gautam, a notorious history-sheeter criminal and leader of his gang D-30, from Madangarhi in Gonda area of ​​the district, was absconding after being convicted in the murder of the former MLA and his gunner. Based on the instructions received for his arrest, the team started the work.

Meanwhile, at 2.30 am, he was arrested from a house in Delhi’s GB Pocket Dilshad Garden Seemapuri Shahdara area. A Maruti Breeza car, 6 mobiles, Rs 1 lakh in cash, a license and photo copy of Aadhaar card were recovered from him. After interrogation by STF, he was admitted to Bulandshahr Kotwali Sadar. From where he was sent to jail.

The hearing of former MLA Malkhan Singh murder case in Gyan Sarovar-Man Sarovar Colony of Quarsi in the year 2006 was held in the Bulandshahr Sessions Court on the instructions of the High Court. He and all the other accused involved in this crime were appearing on the dates continuously. But on January 27, the date fixed for framing of charges, Sonu did not appear. Rather, he excused himself on the basis of medical prescription issued from Malkhan Singh District Hospital.

Rejecting which the court declared him a fugitive and issued attachment notices. On this the attachment notice was pasted at his house. After this, all the 14 accused including former district panchayat president Tejveer Singh Guddu were sentenced to life imprisonment in this case. But Sonu could not be punished due to absconding. From the same day the STF along with the district police was looking for him. The district police had also broken the door etc. during the raid at his house.
