There was a wedding in RS Garden of Iglas town, in which there was a ruckus on both sides due to non-arrangement of DJ. The matter got so bad that the next morning the baratis returning with the bride were fired upon on the way. A young man was injured in the firing. Police arrested two accused and sent them to jail.
Kotwal Vijay Singh said that Vinod Kumar, a resident of Rajawal village of Gonda area, was married in RS Garden. The girl from village Bagsoi police station Sasni was also here. There was a tussle between the two sides as there was no DJ here. The groom’s cousins Pawan, Deepak, Digambar, Dabbu, Harish, Saunu, Bobby etc. had come in the procession. All of them were returning in the morning after seeing off the bride.
On the way near village Bhilpur Pulia, Ravi, Pradeep, Rohit, Shiva and younger residents of Basgoi police station Sasni of the girl side chased and stopped the car of the baraatis and fired with a pistol. Deepak was injured after being shot on the face. The Baratis caught Ravi on the spot. The groom’s cousin Pawan lodged a report regarding the incident.
The injured have been admitted to JN Medical College for treatment. Two accused have been arrested. Four cases of fighting have been registered against one in different police stations. The arrested accused have been sent to jail. Raids are on to arrest the other accused. A scooty and bike used in the incident have been seized.
