The outbreak of cold wave continues in Agra. Due to dense fog and extreme cold, District Magistrate Navneet Singh Chahal has ordered closure of all government and private schools and colleges from class 9th to 12th till January 7. A two-day casual winter holiday has been declared in all schools and colleges. A holiday has already been declared for schools from nursery to class eight. January 8 is Sunday.

According to District School Inspector Manoj Kumar, action will be taken against the principal and the management for violating the orders. Classes 9 to 12 will be applicable till January 7 in all government, non-government, unaided recognized, CBSE, ICSE board schools. On the other hand, orders have already been issued by the District Magistrate to keep all the schools from nursery to class eight closed till January 7. Which will be effective for the next two days.

Fog and clouds remained in Agra for the fourth consecutive day. Dense fog in the morning coupled with zero visibility coupled with bitter cold at night gave people a feeling of bitter cold. Cold day condition remained throughout the day. After five o’clock in the evening, again the dense fog started spreading. On Thursday, the minimum temperature reached five degrees, which is two notches below normal. The maximum temperature settled at 12.9 degrees Celsius, nine notches below normal.
