In which maps and records of Akola region will be kept. The proposal along with the report of all SDMs will be sent to the Revenue Council for declaration of Tehsil.
There are six tehsils in the district. There are 15 blocks. After Sadar, Etmadpur, Bah, Kirawali, Kheragarh and Fatehabad, now Akola can become a new tehsil. The population of Akola is about 40 thousand. Akola block may also include part of Bichpuri, Barauli Ahir, Shamsabad, Saiya and Kheragarh blocks to form the new tehsil.

According to Additional District Magistrate Administration Ajay Kumar Singh, a meeting will be held on December 23 regarding the creation of new tehsil. In which SDMs of Sadar, Kirawali, Kheragarh and Fatehabad will be included. Partial part of these tehsils will be included in Akola tehsil. For this, documents, Sajra plan and revenue records etc. have been sought from the SDMs of the four tehsils. After the meeting, the report regarding formation of Tehsil will be sent to the government through the Divisional Commissioner.
20 km away from district headquarter
Akola block is 20 km away from district headquarter. There is a dropping zone of the Airforce spread over an area of about five km in Akola block. Where paratroopers perform aerial jumps. Presently Akola Block is included in Sadar Tehsil area. With the formation of new tehsil, the people of Akola and surrounding areas will have to travel 20 km for Khasra-Khatauni, metering and other revenue works. You will not have to come to a far city.
Demand to make Bah a district remains incomplete
The demand to make Bah tehsil a district, situated 70 km away from the district headquarter, is pending for the last several years. Every time there is a demand for district status to Bah tehsil in elections. Apart from basic facilities, law and administrative system can be improved here by becoming a district. The population of Bah tehsil is more than three lakhs.
