65 doctors of Agra’s SN Medical College will be on leave from December 18 to January 1, 2023. This will affect health services. The work load on the remaining doctors will increase. Although the medical college administration claims that patients will not be allowed to face any problem. Operation etc. will not be postponed.

There are 136 regular doctors in the Medical College. Six of these doctors are new. They are not being given leave. The remaining 130 doctors are being given leave in two phases. In the first phase, 65 doctors will be on leave from December 18 to January 1 and in the second phase, the remaining 65 doctors will be on leave from January 3 to 18.

Crowd gathered in OPD

With the onset of winter season, more than 2500 patients are arriving at the OPD of the Medical College on Mondays and Tuesdays. Right now patients are getting treatment after one and a half to two hours. Now they may have to wait longer.

Dr. Prashant Gupta, Principal of SN Medical College, says that there are a total of 226 regular and contractual doctors in the college. 65 doctors are going on leave at a time. Preparations have been made for this. Responsibilities have been assigned to the remaining staff. No service will be allowed to be affected. Operations will not be postponed.
