CRPF DG On Anti Naxal Operation: Central Reserve Police Force DG Kuldeep Singh (CRPF) on Wednesday addressed the media in Delhi on the success achieved by the security forces in the Left Wing Extremism (LWE) across the country in the last few months. During this, DG Kuldeep Singh claimed that the decisive battle against the Naxalites is in the final stages. In the next one year, the Naxalites will also be completely wiped out from Chhattisgarh. Bihar and Jharkhand have been made completely naxal-free states in recent months.

At the same time, CRPF DG Kuldeep Singh said that there has been no Naxalite attack or any incident in Chhattisgarh for the last 9 months. In such a situation, it is clear that in Chhattisgarh also the Naxal-effect is decreasing significantly. There are still 25 Naxal-affected districts in the country, but gradually the influence of Naxalites is decreasing. He told that country made grenade launchers were recovered from the possession of Naxalites in Chhattisgarh. In such a situation, it seems that the Naxalites have set up a factory to make UBGL (Under Barrel Grenade Launcher).

Congratulating the CRPF and the state security forces, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Ministry of Home Affairs will continue the policy of zero tolerance against Left Wing Extremism and terrorism.

Naxalites wiped out from old mountain
According to DG Kuldeep Singh, the Naxalite stronghold of Jharkhand in the Budha Pahar area, where security forces could not go for the last several years. From the month of April this year, three different operations were conducted in Budha Pahad. These include Double Bull (Bul-Bull), Operation Octopus and Operation Thunder-Strom. During these operations, many Naxalites were nabbed and a huge amount of IEDs, land mines and weapons were recovered.

DG Kuldeep Singh said that after eliminating the Naxalites, the CRPF has also established its camp in the Budha Pahar area. A helicopter full of security forces has landed there on Tuesday. He told that Operation Thunder-storm is still going on in Budha Pahad.

Bihar also freed from Naxalites
CRPF DG Kuldeep Singh said that the Chakarbanda area of ​​Bihar was also an area where the security forces could not go till a few months ago, but now the security forces have made their five Forward Operating Bases (FOB) in this area too. During the evacuation of this area from the Naxalites, four separate encounters took place, during which three top Naxalites were killed and a CRPF officer was also injured after being hit by a landmine.

Kuldeep Singh is retiring from the post of Director General of CRPF this month. In such a situation, before retirement, he addressed the media and gave information about the decisive war against the Naxalites. He said that this year a total of 14 Naxalites were killed in LWE affected Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. Apart from this, a total of 578 Naxalites surrendered or were arrested.

This campaign reaching the final stage proves that the incidents of Left Wing Extremism-related violence decreased by 39 percent in 2022 as compared to 2018. At the same time, the number of sacrifices of the security forces has come down by 26 percent. There has been a 44 percent reduction in civilian casualties. The number of districts reporting violence also registered a decrease of 24 per cent.
