15 states, 93 locations and 45 arrests, complete details of NIA's action on PFI


NIA Raid On PFI: Today, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided the locations of PFI (Popular Front of India) across the country. A total of 45 people were arrested from different states during the raids. NIA officer Sanjukta Parashar gave detailed information about this raid.

He told that today the search operation was conducted at 93 locations in 15 states. These 15 states are – Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, West Bengal, Bihar and Manipur.

An NIA official said that a total of 45 people have been arrested from different states during the raids. While 39 in Kerala, 16 in Tamil Nadu, 12 in Karnataka, 7 in Andhra Pradesh, 1 in Telangana, 2 in Uttar Pradesh, 4 in Rajasthan, 2 in Delhi, 1 in Assam, 1 in Madhya Pradesh, 4 in Maharashtra, 4 in Goa Raids were conducted at 1 place in West Bengal, 1 in Bihar and 1 in Manipur.

Arrests made in 5 cases

NIA arrested total 5 people in Nizamabad case. 4 people from Andhra Pradesh and 1 person from Telangana got into the hands of NIA. At the same time, one case is from Delhi, in which 19 people have been arrested from Kerala, 7 from Karnataka, 11 from Tamil Nadu and 1 from Uttar Pradesh and 2 from Rajasthan, i.e. a total of 45.

Why was the raid done?

During the investigation of the last few days, the NIA had come to know that PFI terror funding, training camps where weapons training was being given, as well as inciting youth to join banned terrorist organizations. It was red because of this. NIA had already registered these cases and after investigation got the evidence and now this action has been taken. According to sources, around 300 NIA officers were involved in the search operation. NIA DG supervised this raid.

4 days remand

The National Investigation Agency produced 18 accused in the Patiala House Court. All of them are accused in the case registered in Delhi. The NIA sought remand from the court till September 26 and the court has sent the accused on remand for 4 days. Let us tell you that since 2010 till now 46 people associated with PFI have been sentenced by the courts, while till now chargesheet has been done against 355 accused.

According to NIA sources, raids were conducted in Rajasthan in connection with the case related to terror funding and arms. In Kerala, other weapons including indigenous swords were made. Weapons were supplied from Kerala to Rajasthan a few months back. These weapons were sent to deal with the Hindutva organization. At present, PFI organization is not banned in Rajasthan. The head office of PFI is present in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Apart from this, it also has a big office in Kota. A few days ago, OM Salam, the National President of PFI, had come to Jaipur. Saifur Rehman Nashik District President PFI has been detained by the NIA.
