Soon 12 to 14 leopards from Africa will be brought to India. Chittas will come to India in the next five years. The Government of India has entered into an agreement with the Government of Namibia in this regard. Giving information in Parliament has been said by Ashwini Kumar Choubey.
Under Project Tiger, a grant of Rs 38.7 crore would have been given for the initiative of repatriation of chittas to India. The project will start in 2021-22 and run till 2025-26, Ashwini Kumar Choubey said.

Presently 8 leopards released in Kuno National Park are completely safe. They are being monitored for 24 hours. On September 17, eight leopards were brought from Namibia to the Kuno National Park in the central region. On the birthday of Prime Minister Modi, chittas were released in the National Park. Or special preparations have been made for making the chittas their new homes.

After coming out of isolation, the ants have started coming and hunting. Eight leopards, five females and three males aged 30 to 66 months, are currently in the Kuno National Park. There will be more travel in the coming times.
