Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia has won the bronze medal in the World Wrestling Championship. Olympic bronze medalist Poonia has given India’s second medal in this World Wrestling Championship. Before her, female wrestler Vinesh Phogat also won the bronze medal. Commonwealth Games 2022 gold medalist Bajrang won the bronze in the 65 kg weight category. He stunned Puerto Rico’s Sebastian Rivera 11-9.

Bajrang had earlier lost to John Diakomihalis in the quarter-finals. He then won a bronze medal in repechage. This is the fourth medal in Bajrang’s career so far in the World Wrestling Championship. He had earlier won bronze in 2013, silver in 2018 and then bronze in 2019.
