Nagpur, Lumpy disease caused by animals increases rapidly like corona, so District Magistrate Dr. Vipin Itankar has appealed to get immediate treatment as soon as symptoms appear. He told in the press-council that lumpy-like symptoms have been seen in 20 cattle in the district and 1 bull has died due to this. There is a target of 10,000 vaccines to control this epidemic in the district and so far 4,000 cattle have been vaccinated.

Animals become healthy with treatment, so the animal husbandry should not panic and immediately inform the animal promotion center or gram panchayat as soon as symptoms are seen. Itankar said that adequate amount of vaccine has been provided by the government. He told that lumpi is a rapidly spreading deadly skin disease. The animal husbandry should cooperate in the measures initiated by the various departments of the government and the Animal Promotion Department so that the disease does not develop. He told that till now 7 samples have been sent for test. The purchase and sale of animals, transportation has been completely banned.

Infected cattle also in Hingna

After Badegaon and Umri in Savner, symptoms of lumpi have also been seen in cattle in Junewani of Hingna tehsil. The disease is unlikely to spread from animals to humans. The state government has revealed the 1962 toll free number in this context and if any unclaimed animal on the road shows signs like lumpy, then he appealed to inform on the above number.

Animal Promotion Principal Secretary gave instructions

Principal Secretary of the department JP Gupta also took information about the situation through VC along with all the district magistrates, CEOs and officers of the department and gave guidelines. He said that after Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, now the spread of lumpi is seen fast in Maharashtra. All necessary steps should be taken expeditiously to save the cattle. The District Magistrate informed him about the situation in the district and the steps being taken.

Will buy vaccine from cess fund

Here, the JIP president told in the press-council that there are 3.50 lakh cattle in the district. Each tehsil is going to get 1.30 lakh vaccines per 10,000 vaccines from the government. For the remaining cattle, the vaccine will be purchased from the cess fund of the Zilla Parishad. He told that symptoms of lumpy were found in Junewani and 2 cattle but this figure has gone up to 11.

In some more villages of Savaner and Hingna cattle have shown symptoms, samples of which have been sent for testing. Vaccination of 1,450 such cattle in Hingna, 2,232 in Savaner has been completed in 2 days. If there is a delay in getting the vaccine from the government, then there is a preparation to buy the vaccine from the cess fund. Animal Promotion Chairman Tapeshwar Vaidya told that to stop the spread of lumpi, public awareness is being done among the animal owners.
