Controversy has deepened in the matter of proposing the names of Supreme Court advocates on behalf of the Collegium in the matter of appointment of justices in the Allahabad High Court. In protest against this, the High Court Bar Association boycotted the judicial work by meeting after the lunch break on Friday. It has been said that judicial work will not be done on Saturday also. The Bar Association said that this decision of the Collegium will not be tolerated. Bar strongly opposes this.

Radhakant Ojha, President and Senior Advocate of the High Court Bar Association presiding the meeting said that in the resolution sent by the High Court Bar Association Allahabad to the Chief Justice on March 16, 2022 and August 23, 2022, it was requested that the High Court in Allahabad Only advocates practicing in Allahabad and its Lucknow Bench should be appointed as Justices. But bypassing the proposal of the High Court Bar Association Allahabad, it is unfortunate that four advocates of the Supreme Court have been proposed for appointment by the collegium for appointment of justice.

General Secretary Satyadhir Singh Jadoun said that the Supreme Court has passed several orders in this regard. On the contrary, except the members of the bar here, advocates of other times are being appointed. This proposal of the collegium is not correct. He said that there are a large number of advocates who can do a better job as justices. He has a consistent presence in the High Court and is consistently doing good work. In such a situation, it is wrong to propose names of outside advocates as justices. High Court Bar Association Allahabad strongly opposes this.

In the meeting, it has been decided to abstain from judicial work after lunch break and on Saturdays. In the meeting, senior advocate former president Rakesh Pandey, senior advocate Anil Tiwari, Pandit Daya Shankar Mishra, Prabhashankar Mishra, Ashok Kumar Singh, Suresh Chandra Pandey, Manoj Kumar Mishra, Neeraj Kumar Tripathi, Surendra Nath Mishra, Dharmendra Singh Yadav, Satyam Pandey, Shyama Charan Tripathi, Ashutosh Tripathi, Ushma Mishra, Arun Kumar Singh etc. were present.
