SC again refuses to probe into genocide in Kashmir


Supreme Court On Massacre: The Supreme Court has refused to hear the petition of Ashutosh, son of Tika Lal Taplu, who was killed in Kashmir in 1989. It was said in the petition that 32 years have passed, the family does not even know what kind of investigation was done in the matter. The family was not even given a copy of the FIR.

Senior Advocate Gaurav Bhatia appearing for the petitioner (Gaurav Bhatia) cited the SIT set up by the Supreme Court three decades after the 1984 Sikh massacre. He also demanded an inquiry into the massacre in 1989-90, including this case. But Justice B R Gavai (Justice BR Gavai) and CT Ravikumar said, “We have earlier dismissed a similar petition. Can’t hear it now.”

Give memorandum to the Central Government – Supreme Court

On September 2, the same bench had refused to hear the SIT inquiry into the genocide of Hindus and Sikhs in Jammu and Kashmir between 1989 and 2003 and the hearing on the demand for rehabilitation of the displaced. . The court called the petitioner body ‘We the Citizens’ (‘We the Citizens’) to give a memorandum to the Central Government for this. Earlier in 2017 also the Supreme Court had given ‘Roots in Kashmir’ (‘Roots in Kashmir’) was refused to hear a similar petition of the institution named. Then the court had said that it is not possible to collect evidence after so many years of the massacre in 1990.
