Matar Kulche Recipe: Matar ki chaat and buttered kulcha in a big pot are amazing in taste. Matar Kulchas are as much fun in taste as they are easy to make. In such a situation, if you also want to try this tasty street food at home, then follow this recipe.

Ingredients for making Matar Kulcha-
To make peas-

– 2 cups dry peas soaked for 6 hours
-2 green chilies
-1 cup finely chopped onion
-1 cup finely chopped tomatoes
-1 tbsp lemon juice
-1/2 tsp amchur powder
-2 tbsp chaat masala
-1/4 tsp sweet soda
-1/4 tsp turmeric
-1/2 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
– salt to taste

To make Kulcha-

-200 grams flour
-1/4 cup curd
-1/4 tsp baking soda
-1 tsp sugar
1 tsp kasoori methi
1 tsp green coriander
– salt to taste

Recipe for making Matar Kulcha-

To make Kulcha, first sieve 200 grams of all purpose flour in a vessel, add half a cup of curd, a teaspoon of sugar, a teaspoon of baking soda, salt as per taste and mix it well. Now knead the flour like a soft dough with lukewarm water, cover the dough with a cloth and keep it aside for 5 hours. After about 5 hours the dough will set for making kulcha.

Now mix peas, sweet soda, half a teaspoon turmeric powder, a little salt and 2 cups of water in a pressure cooker and keep it for boiling on medium flame. For boiling peas apply 4-5 whistles. After the pressure of the cooker is over, open the lid and mash the peas. Now add onion, green chilli, tomato, chaat masala, amchur powder and salt as per taste and mix it well, add lemon juice and cook on low flame for 5 minutes.

Take out the matar chaat in a bowl and garnish it with green coriander. After this, knead the already kneaded dough once again and break 12-15 equal balls of it. Now take a ball and roll it into a thick round and press it by sprinkling kasoori fenugreek and some coriander leaves. Now heat a tawa on medium flame and grease it with a little oil. Now place the rolled kulcha on the tawa and bake it on both the sides. After baking the Kulcha, keep it on a plate and serve it with peas.
