Congress Presidential Election: Congress’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ continues. Meanwhile, the politics in the Congress party regarding the new president has also intensified. Many veteran Congress leaders have indicated that they will contest for the post of president. However, no one has said this openly yet. Most of the leaders are demanding to make Rahul Gandhi the president again. Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh has given a big statement.
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh tweeted, “The entire party is involved in making #BharatJodoYatra a success. Yet it is important to reiterate that any member is welcome to contest for Congress President. It is a democratic and transparent process. No one needs anyone’s approval, especially the party leadership, to contest elections.”

Shashi Tharoor meets Sonia Gandhi
Let us tell you that three-time MP from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, Shashi Tharoor, who had indicated that he would enter the election for the post of Congress President, met Sonia Gandhi on Monday morning. The news came that Tharoor has sought permission from party president Sonia Gandhi to contest the elections and she has also got her nod.
Ashok Gehlot can also contest elections
Sources say that if Rahul Gandhi is not ready to return to the post of President, then Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will finally file his nomination for this post. According to sources, Sonia Gandhi had discussed this with him a few weeks ago. However, Gehlot clearly believes that Rahul Gandhi should become the Congress President.
When will the elections be held?
It is noteworthy that the nomination for the Congress President election will run from September 24 to 30. Voting will be held on October 17 and results will be out on October 19. There is every possibility that after 24 years a leader outside the Gandhi family is going to take the reins of the Congress.
