How was the monsoon this time in India, where did the rain make it miserable and where did the crops get damaged?

Monsoon In India: The time has come to bid farewell to Monsoon 2022. In the next few days, the process of farewell of monsoon will start. Before farewell, some states of the country may see the last monsoon rains. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in many states of the country including the capital Delhi NCR, UP, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar in the next two-three days.

How was the monsoon this time?

This year’s monsoon has been much better than the last few years. According to the Meteorological Department, under Monsoon 2022, the country has received 7 percent more rainfall than the average, but surprisingly, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Delhi, Punjab, Tripura, Mizoram and Manipur have received less rainfall. This can have a direct impact on the Kharif crops of UP, Bihar and Jharkhand. Let us inform that till September 19, the country has received more than 872 mm i.e. 32 inches of rain.

Kharif crops were badly affected due to less rain

According to the Meteorological Department, this time India received 7 percent more rain from June 1 to September 19, but the states where rice grows well, for example, 8 states including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have received less rain. The effect of monsoon was less visible in these states and this is the reason that now agricultural production can be reduced in this Kharif season.

The situation in Rajasthan is also looking similar. There was a lot of rain in some districts of Rajasthan, but some districts remained in the hope of a drop of rain. Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan received good rains in the month of July, but in the month of August there was very little rain. This is the reason that there has been a lot of damage to Kharif crops in the district. Water is needed for irrigation at the time of grain formation in the crop. Due to lack of rain at such a time, the crops of moong and chawla have withered in the district.

Such rain after 90 years

This year’s monsoon wreaked havoc on Karnataka. Especially the capital of Karnataka, Bengaluru was the most affected due to rain. It is being told that for the first time in nearly 90 years in IT City Bangalore, it was raining that Bengaluru has become miserable. The roads here were submerged and people’s vehicles were also seen submerged in water.

The White Field area, which is called the IT hub of Bangalore, and most of the Silicon City were seen submerged in water. Boats had to be used to rescue the people and several rescue teams were engaged in evacuating the stranded people. Due to the floods, there was a scene of devastation in Bangalore.

How was the monsoon in Delhi

A total of 405.3 mm of rain has been recorded in Delhi since the onset of monsoon from June 1, as against the normal rainfall of 621.7 mm during this period. The Safdarjung Observatory has recorded only 52.9 mm of rain so far in September, as against the normal rainfall of 104.8 mm during this period. August recorded 41.6 mm of rain, the lowest in 14 years.
