A strange case has come to the fore in Vadodara, Gujarat. Actually, a 40-year-old woman had been married for 8 years. But, later she came to know that her husband used to be a woman earlier. She had undergone gender-reassignment surgery. In the FIR lodged at Gotri police station, Sheetal accused Viraj Vardhan (earlier Vijayta) of “unnatural sex” and cheating. He has also named his family members in the FIR.

According to the Times of India, Sheetal told the police that she had met Viraj Vardhan nine years ago through a matrimonial website. Her ex-husband died in a road accident, leaving her with their daughter, who was 14 at the time.
They got married formally in 2014 in the presence of family members and even went to Kashmir for honeymoon. However, he did not have a physical relationship and kept on making excuses for several days. When the woman pressurized him, he claimed that an accident that happened to him in Russia a few years earlier had made him unable to have sex.
The accused assured the woman that he would make a full recovery after a minor surgery. In January 2020, he told her that he wanted to undergo obesity surgery. However, she later revealed that she had undergone gender reassignment surgery.
According to an India Today report, he allegedly began having “unnatural sex” with the woman and threatened her of dire consequences if he told the truth to anyone. Gotri Police Inspector MK Gurjar said that the accused is a resident of Delhi and has been brought to Vadodara.
