ED Summons | Manish Sisodia made a big claim, ED sent summons to AAP leader Durgesh Pathak. Navabharat

New Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday claimed that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) municipal election in-charge Durgesh Pathak in connection with the probe into the excise policy. Summons have been sent. Sisodia questioned the summons sent to Pathak and asked whether the agency was targeting the liquor policy or the MCD elections.

“The ED has summoned AAP’s MCD election in-charge Durgesh Pathak today. What does our MCD election in-charge have to do with the excise policy of the Delhi government? Is liquor policy on their target or MCD elections?” However, there is no official confirmation of the summons being sent from the ED yet. The MCD elections in Delhi are likely to be held by the end of this year after the delimitation of 270 wards is completed.

Last week, the ED had conducted raids at 40 places across the country in connection with the excise policy 2021-22 of the Arvind Kejriwal government. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR and named Sisodia as an accused in connection with alleged irregularities in the policy. The Kejriwal government appointed Lieutenant Governor V.K. The policy was withdrawn in July after Saxena recommended a CBI inquiry into alleged irregularities in the implementation of the policy.
