Mexico City. A 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck off the Pacific coast of Mexico on Monday. In which at least one person died, buildings were damaged, electricity went out. As soon as the earthquake struck, people came out on the streets screaming and shouting to save their lives.
Mexican President Andres Manuel López Obrador said in a video address that a man was killed in the Pacific port of Manzanillo after a wall collapsed in a store.

The US Tsunami Warning Center said a tsunami was possible in parts of the Mexican coastline within about 200 miles of the quake’s epicenter, but there was no threat to the US west coast, including California and Hawaii, Weather.com reported.

According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred at 1:05 pm local time. The epicenter of the quake was 37 km southeast of Aquila, near the border between the states of Colima and Michoacán, at a depth of 15.1 km. The magnitude of the earthquake was initially reported as 7.5.

It is noteworthy that earthquake tremors were felt in Mexico in 1985 and 2017 on the same day (September 19).
