  • Desk-bench overturned, mike and files thrown

Nagpur, In the first general meeting of the new office bearers in the Zilla Parishad, the opposition was upbeat because of the support of the rebel members of the ruling party. On many issues like compensation to farmers, rigging in compensation distribution, investigation of scams, discrimination in fund distribution, along with the opposition, angry members of the ruling party also surrounded their own office bearers and demanded answers.

In some cases, the members also lashed out at the officials of the concerned department. President Mukta Kokadde did not have words to answer the questions, due to which Vice President Kunda Raut, President Avantika Lekurwale took the lead in her place. The opposition and ruling members were seen fighting with each other several times in the meeting which lasted till the evening, but in the end, when the subjects included in the agenda of the meeting were approved on the basis of majority from 1 to 10, the speaker came out of the house after announcing the end of the meeting. When she went, along with the opposition, the rebel members also got angry.

Opposition leader Atish Umre alleged that there were other issues, including the leave of controversial member Dudmal, on which we wanted to discuss but the Speaker approved everything. After this attitude, opposition members including Umre, Sanjay Jhade of Shiv Sena, rebel Nana Kambhale of Congress got angry and expressed their anger by throwing water bottles, mikes, proceedings files. Not only this, the desk was also dropped. Due to this sudden vandalism, many members and officials were also taken aback. During the uproar, all the officials came out of the House.

Opposition agitated by allegations on Deputy Chief Minister

The meeting was started with the issue of compensation and help to the farmers suffering from excessive rains and floods, but when former Zip President Rashmi Barve alleged that due to the Congress being in power in the Nagpur Zilla Parishad, the foster minister put a stay on the works of the DPC. When the order was issued, the opposition was uprooted. Atish Umre, Subhash Gujarkar demanded an apology from Barve to show that order in the House otherwise.

On this issue, the dispute between the members of both the parties went on for about half an hour and the angry opposition members threw water bottles. Shinde faction Shiv Sena member Jhade retorted that if the ZIP administration and the then office bearers had done the tender process on time, the stay would not have been affected. Vice President Kunda Raut also said that in the history till date, no such stay has been imposed on the work of DPC approved by a foster minister, which has been imposed by this government.

Shanta Kumre kept calm

Former presidents Rashmi Barve, Prakash Khapre, Dudharam Savvalakhe, Tapeshwar Vaidya, Salil Deshmukh and Ujwala Bodhare took command to protect the new office bearers from the attacks of the opposition and rebel members, but Shanta Kumre, the senior most member of the Congress, sat quietly in this meeting. Stayed Let us tell that Kumre was a strong contender for the post of president from ST category but she was sidelined. She has been seen standing with her party in every meeting, but in this meeting she played a neutral role. On the other hand, this time along with Kambhale, Arun Hatwar fiercely surrounded his own office bearers.

We were demanding to discuss the subjects included in the list of subjects, including the approval of the leave application of Shankar Dudmal, who was absent for several months, but the Speaker tried to approve the subjects in a dictatorial manner without discussing them. Due to which the members got agitated. Will complain to the departmental commissioner in this context.

Atish Umre (opposition leader)

All the subjects were discussed in the house for about 5 hours. The opposition could not give any answer in the context of stay on DPC fund by its government, not giving the amount of compensation to the farmers. The sabotage by them at the end of the meeting is just a public stunt. He didn’t have any issues.
