Important Hearing in Supreme Court: The second last week of September is starting from today. After the weekend, all government offices, courts and courts will also open today. If we look at the court and decisions, then the first day of the week i.e. Monday is going to be very important. Today, the Supreme Court of the country, ie the Supreme Court, will hear in many important cases. All eyes are on the decisions coming in these matters. Let us tell you which cases the Supreme Court will hear today.

1. Karnataka Hijab Case

During the hearing of the matter in the Supreme Court today, the eyes of the whole country will be fixed, that is the Hijab case of Karnataka. Hearing on this matter will continue in the Supreme Court. The petitioners have challenged the decision of the Karnataka High Court, in which the state government’s order of complete observance of uniforms in schools and colleges was upheld. The High Court had also said that wearing hijab for women is not a mandatory part of Islam. The matter will be heard in the Supreme Court today.

2. On the issue of extension of tenure of ED and CBI directors

The Supreme Court will hear the challenge of the ordinance giving the central government the power to extend the tenure of ED and CBI directors. Several petitioners, including Congress leader Randeep Surjewala, TMC MP Mahua Moitra, have demanded the cancellation of this ordinance, calling it arbitrary. After the ordinance came in these petitions, the issue of extension of service of one year to ED Director Sanjay Mishra has also been raised. It has been said that this is in violation of the order of the Supreme Court not to give further extension to Mishra.

3. Case of murder of 2 sadhus and their driver in Palghar

There will be a hearing in the Supreme Court today on the demand to hand over the investigation to the CBI in the case of lynching of 2 sadhus and their driver in Palghar in 2020. The then Maharashtra government had opposed the CBI inquiry into the incident. The state government had said that the police has filed a charge sheet after investigation. Action has also been taken against the policemen who were negligent in the matter.

4. On the petition of BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain

The Supreme Court will today hear the case of rape allegations against BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain. Shahnawaz has challenged the order of the Delhi High Court to register an FIR for rape. Earlier, the Supreme Court had stayed the order of the High Court, giving them relief. In a 2018 case, the High Court had ordered the Delhi Police to register an FIR and complete the investigation in three months. Shahnawaz has called the allegation completely false.

5. For Caution Before Imposing Death Penalty

In a criminal case, the Supreme Court will decide on the caution to be taken by the court before awarding the death sentence to the convict. The Supreme Court itself took cognizance of the matter and started the hearing. While reserving the decision, the 3-judge bench had said that either it will frame the guidelines itself or the matter can also be referred to a larger bench.

6. On the petition of Satish Chandra Verma, who was sacked from IPS

Today the Supreme Court will also hear the petition of Satish Chandra Verma, who was dismissed from the IPS service. Verma has been sacked by the government for breaching the discipline of the Indian Police Service officers and for not acting up to his position. He says that in fact he has been targeted for investigating against the then state government in the Ishrat Jahan encounter case of Gujarat in 2004.
