Due to the weather system, heavy rainfall has been predicted in UP and Uttarakhand today and tomorrow. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert of very heavy rain at some places in these two states between Friday and Saturday.

Today, heavy rains are possible over Gujarat and Madhya Maharashtra, Chambal division of Madhya Pradesh and western parts and parts of Rajasthan. According to the IMD, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected over Odisha, Konkan region of Maharashtra and Goa for the next two to three days, while heavy to very heavy rains are expected in UP and Uttarakhand till September 17.

It will rain in Delhi NCR too
There was good rain in the capital Delhi and NCR last night. It may rain today. This trend is likely to continue for the next two days. Due to this the weather will remain pleasant. There is also a possibility of rain in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Heavy rain in Lucknow, holiday in schools
Due to heavy rains, water-logging has occurred at many places in Lucknow. In view of this, the district administration has issued instructions on Friday to keep holidays in all government and private schools up to class 12 in the district. With the fresh spell of monsoon, the situation of scanty rainfall in UP may improve slightly. The state has received less than 45 per cent rainfall so far, due to which the threat of drought was looming.

Moderate to heavy rain is possible in these areas
According to private weather agency Skymet, in the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rains are possible in East and Central Uttar Pradesh, parts of Madhya Pradesh, North Konkan and Goa and South Gujarat. Similarly, light to moderate rain or heavy rain may occur over West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Uttarakhand and East Rajasthan. At the same time, light rain is possible over Himachal Pradesh, parts of Punjab, parts of Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, remaining parts of Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh.

East winds will prevail in Central UP, Maharashtra and West MP
According to the Meteorological Department, at present the north-east winds are blowing in the west-south direction in India. Two cyclones are still active from India’s east direction, with easterly winds forming a cloudy flow. Today, rain will be strong in Maharashtra including Central UP, West Madhya Pradesh and Mumbai.

Deep low pressure area is making rain in MP
Actually, a deep low pressure area in and around Northwest Madhya Pradesh is causing rain in many parts of the country. It will now move in North-North-West direction and move towards North-East direction passing through South Uttar Pradesh. It is very likely to turn into a pressure area over Southwest Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, a trough extends from the Arabian Sea to south Gujarat and west Madhya Pradesh and northeastern Bihar through Uttar Pradesh. Due to all this, the monsoon is active in the country till mid-September. Usually it is the farewell time of monsoon.
